  Anyone watch Jay Leno?

  did anyone watch the tonite show on tuesday night 8/28?........in one of his skits titled "tattoo or no tattoo" he interviews a girl on the street who says she was brought up in a strict conservative household and was an ex-jehovahs witness, ex-exotic dancer, and now a masseuse..... anyway, i thought it was cool that she stated she was an ex-jw without batting an eye.

  myself, i hate to tell anyone that i was once affiliated with that religion.

  embarassment on my part , i suppose.

  Since when?!!!!

  recently one of my brothers sons who is a 22 yr old jw mentioned to me rather excitedly that he just got back from ozzfest 2007, telling me him and his gf who is also a jw (elders daughter) rocked to bands such as "ozzie ozbourne" "lamb of god" "three inches of blood" and "static x" to name a few.

  i was astounded by his "revelation" that he and his gf among many other younger jw kids attended this event with jw parental consent.

  i remember when i was growing up around the jw religion even mentioning the name of ozzie ozbourne was reason for a trip to the back room for a "talk" with the elders.

  well, as the memorial approaches again, the pressure directed at me from the remaining jw's in my family to attend is getting to be too much.

  i'm at the point where i just want to yell out "leave me the f@$k alone!

  "......but i know i cant say that, so i'll just make up some excuse like i did last year and just not go.

  Ever work for Witnesses?

  i worked for a witness owned business for 10 years.

  three as a witness and seven as a former witness.

  it was a formal wear (tuxedo) store.

  anyone on the forum ever met brothers: arnold arrogant, jerry jealous, david deceitful, harry hateful, carl cocky, matt materialistic....... how about sisters: kathy conceited, pam proud, debbie dishonest, connie condescending.....

  How did your parents punish you?????(Fluff)

  now i know the topic may be thought of as abuse scenario, however it is not.....(i am sick of hearing about abuse).

  i threw a party at my house(parents came home early)....anyway, as a punishment i was to sand and stain shingles for the house.

  this was a huge job it took me 2 weeks to get it all done.

  Can an extremely "overweight" JW's man become a JW elder?

  i remember years ago at my kh there was a brother that was "very" heavy.

  he was a very nice guy brother grover(not his real name) was very helpful to all of the elders and ministerial servants but he never became an elder.

  i always wondered why and i think it was because he was "heavy".
